Ignou restarts online notes portal 'eGyanKosh'

Education Vijay, Someone has said it right: Internet can be a boon or a bane for students.  The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) initiated a compiled format of notes for the students at a popular notes website 'eGyanKosh', which provided synthesised, authentic notes to the students. After having closed for a few months in between, the website has been started again.
According to a media report, IGNOU has reactivated the portal recently. Keeping in mind the need of the students, the website gives one month free trail to the students who need it urgently and cannot bear expenses. The website charges a minimal amount to access the university's important notes. It has a substantial amount of resources, including print material for around 2,565 courses and 2,389 video programmes. Ignou initiated the hub of knowledge eGyanKosh (www.egyankosh.ac.in) in October, 2005, while the site was publicly launched on June 9, 2008 receiving as many as "20 lakh hits, and more than 1,000 visits per day from all over the world." Moreover, the website had around three lakh registered users previously.
